“Lightworks is Good, But the Paid Version is Where the Magic Happens”
Lightworks is an editing software that caters to both beginners and more experienced editors. It’s been used to edit films, so it’s got the tools you’d expect in a pro editor.
Pros : Lightworks offers many tools that are really helpful when editing. I love the fact that I can edit quickly with its timeline features, and the built-in effects give me plenty of options to play around with. It's great for making clean, polished videos, even if you’re not an expert.
Cons : N/A
Switched from : iMovie
Reason to switch : I moved to Lightworks because iMovie couldn’t handle the larger video files and didn’t offer enough export options for my needs.

Cons : I haven’t faced any issues so far

“Lightworks is Packed with Features, But the Free Version Has Its Limits”
This software is known for offering pro-level features, and it’s clear that Lightworks is a strong choice for video editors. You can trim clips, adjust the color, and apply transitions with ease.
Pros : Lightworks has been great for editing videos, especially with its wide variety of built-in effects and transitions. The drag-and-drop feature makes organizing clips simple, and the overall editing process feels smooth once you get the hang of it.
Cons : The biggest drawback for me is the free version. While it’s good for smaller projects, I often felt limited because I couldn’t export in 4K without upgrading. Also, learning some of the advanced features took longer than I expected, even with the tutorials.
Switched from : Adobe Flash
Reason to switch : I switched from Shotcut because I wanted better effects and smoother performance when working with larger video files.

“Lightworks: Great for Editing but Needs Some Improvements for Beginners”
Lightworks is a great video editor that offers a lot of functionality, from basic edits to advanced tools like color correction and special effects.
Pros : I’ve found Lightworks to be a really helpful tool for editing, especially with how easy it is to manage multiple video clips. The trimming and cutting features work very well, and the program rarely crashes, even when working with big files. It's stable and fast.
Cons : One of the downsides is that it’s not very beginner-friendly. While you can figure things out with tutorials, the interface can feel overwhelming at first. Also, the free version has some limitations, especially when it comes to exporting your projects in higher quality.
Switched from : DaVinci Resolve
Reason to switch : I moved from DaVinci Resolve because I wanted something more straightforward for my editing needs without sacrificing quality and speed.

“Lightworks: A Solid Choice for Video Editing with Great Features”
Lightworks is a video editing software that’s been around for years, trusted by professionals and amateurs alike. It’s known for being reliable and packed with features, from basic trimming to color grading.
Pros : I’ve been using Lightworks for a while now, and I really like how it helps me create professional-looking videos without getting too complicated. The interface is clean, and there are lots of tools to work with. I particularly enjoy the easy drag-and-drop editing, and the trimming tools make everything so much faster. Plus, there are a lot of built-in effects that add a creative touch.
Cons : One thing that could be better is the learning curve. It’s not too hard, but some advanced features take a bit of time to figure out. Also, while the free version is good, some important features are locked behind a paywall, which can be a bit frustrating if you're on a tight budget.
Switched from : OpenShot Video Editor
Reason to switch : I switched from OpenShot because I needed more professional features and better performance, especially for larger video projects.

“Lightworks: Perfect for Multi-Cam and Social Media Content”
Lightworks is a robust video editing tool that shines in handling multi-cam projects and social media content. Its drag-and-drop interface makes editing fast and easy, while the direct export feature simplifies posting to social media. The software’s multicam editing capabilities are especially useful for live event footage.
Pros : Lightworks has been great for editing multi-cam footage. I can easily sync and edit video from different cameras. Additionally, the software’s direct export options to social media make posting content easy. The drag-and-drop functionality speeds up my workflow significantly.
Cons : The initial setup and learning phase were a bit tricky for me. Some features felt hidden at first, and I had to spend time figuring out where everything was. Also, the software can be quite resource-intensive, so it might slow down older computers.
Switched from : Final Cut Pro
Reason to switch : I switched to Lightworks because its multicam editing feature was more advanced and user-friendly compared to Final Cut Pro. The social media integration was also a big plus for my content creation needs.
