“Good Protection but Lacks Multi-Device Support”

It makes me feel safe knowing that my data is secure. However, as someone who uses multiple devices, it is limiting that Intego only supports Mac and Windows which leaves my other devices unprotected.

Pros : It really gives complete protection against all kinds of threats which includes malware, phishing, and ransomware which makes me trust the solution even more.

Cons : Being a multi-device owner/user, I found it to have limited cross-platform support. It is only available for Mac and Windows, which makes it hard to protect my other devices.

Switched from : Bitdefender Antivirus Plus

Reason to switch : Bitdefender started to slow down my Mac and Intego’s Mac-specific focus made it run much smoother.

“Interface can be Overwhelming but Great Firewall”

Intego's integrated firewall gives my network an additional degree of security. However, I found the interface to be pretty overwhelming after using it for a few months. While user-friendly, there are so many features that feel too much.

Pros : Love that Intego has a built-in firewall, it is a bonus for me and adds an extra layer of security to protect my network.

Cons : While using it for 2 months I found it the interface to be a bit much. While the interface is user-friendly there are so many features that feel overwhelming.

Switched from : Malwarebytes

Reason to switch : Malwarebytes did not offer as many advanced features as Intego and I wanted something that could provide a more complete protection.

“Minor Annoyances but Solid Effective Protection”

I like the real-time scanning feature which has been fantastic at catching threats as they try to enter my system, this gives me confidence in its protection. However, it does sometimes flag files that I know are safe.

Pros : It is real-time scanning feature is highly effective in detecting and blocking many threats as they try to enter my system.

Cons : Like many other antivirus solutions, it sometimes flags files and programs that I know are safe. I must manually whitelist them.

Switched from : Kaspersky Antivirus

Reason to switch : Kaspersky was a bit heavy on my system and slowed things down. Intego offered solid protection without lagging.

“Features Need Manual Setup”

The Mac cleaner tools are helpful for keeping my system running smoothly by removing unnecessary files and programs. Yet, I did find that some features like the firewall require manual configuration which was a bit confusing.

Pros : Being a Mac user and having Intego really works well. It has these Mac cleaner tools that help me keep my system running smoothly by removing unnecessary files and clutter.

Cons : I found out that for some features like the firewall, require manual configuration which can be confusing for less advanced users.

Switched from : Sophos

Reason to switch : I moved to Intego since Sophos did not offer the Mac-specific features and Intego’s cleaner tools and overall optimization made my Mac feel faster.

“Great Mac-Focused Security”

Intego has been a positive experience for me over the past few months. Being a Mac user, I appreciate that it is made especially for macOS, which means my system operates efficiently and doesn't lag. Comparing it to other antivirus programs, I did find it to be rather more expensive.

Pros : Being primarily a Mac user I found that Intego has a strong Mac focus, it is specifically designed for Mac users, so it feels optimized and tailored to macOS.

Cons : One drawback of Intego was that it was somewhat more expensive than other antivirus programs.

Switched from : Norton Antivirus

Reason to switch : I moved from Norton since it was slow on my Mac and did not seem as optimized for macOS.

“Easy to Use Protection”

As for someone who is not tech-savvy, I really like how easy Intego is to use. The interface is simple and managing my security settings is a breeze, however after using the free version, I realized that it offers only the basic protection.

Pros : As someone who is not tech-savvy, I found the software to be user-friendly, which made it straightforward to go through the capabilities and manage security settings.

Cons : I had to purchase to the premium version after discovering that the free version only provided rudimentary security, which was insufficient for complete security.

Switched from : Trend Micro Antivirus + Security

Reason to switch : Trend Micro was a bit too much for me to manage and Intego’s user-friendly interface made it much easier to navigate.

As a parent, I like Intego’s parental control feature. It helps me manage what my kids can access online, which ensures that they stay safe while browsing. If you are someone who likes to use advanced features you might find the solution to be lacking in some options.

Pros : As a parent, I truly appreciate that it offers a parental control tool, which is very helpful for controlling my children's internet access and ensuring their safety when browsing.

Cons : You will discover that it lacks features if you are like me and enjoy delving deeply into features and functionalities. It lacks some advanced features that power users might need.

Reason to switch : McAfee felt too complicated and bloated for my requirements. Intego’s focus on simplicity and parental controls was a better fit for me.

“One of the Best Customer Support”

Intego has one of the best customers supports out there. They have been helpful whenever I have had an issue which made troubleshooting a lot easier. Although, I sometimes think that if it as trustworthy since it is not as well-known as other solutions.

Pros : I love the fact that it offers some of the best customer support. Intego’s customer support has been helpful whenever I needed assistance which makes it easier to resolve any issues quickly.

Cons : I sometimes wonder if it is not as trustworthy or effective as some of the big names out there since it is not widely known as some brands.

Switched from : Webroot SecureAnywhere

Reason to switch : I switched from Webroot SecureAnywhere since they did not a better customer service than Intego.

“Smooth Performance but Lacks VPN”

I like that Intego has operated without any perceptible lags on my Mac since I started using it. I have never used an antivirus program that is as trouble-free as this one. However, I do miss having a built-in VPN, since I expected that feature from a premium site.

Pros : The smoothest antivirus I've ever used on my Mac is Intego, which doesn't cause any issues or obvious slowdowns.

Cons : The software lacks a built-in VPN, which is something I would anticipate from a high-end security suite, which is one of my complaints.

Switched from : Avast Antivirus

Reason to switch : I wanted something much lighter and more optimized for my devices so that is why I switched from Avast to Intego.

“Reliable Updates but Occasional Slow Scans”

The excellent thing about Intego is that it keeps its virus definitions up to date, so I can rest easy knowing that I'm safe from any dangers. That said, sometimes the cans can be a little slow which takes longer than I expected.

Pros : I appreciate that Intego regularly updates its virus definitions which helps me to ensure protection against all the latest threats.

Cons : Although it doesn't significantly slow down my system, there are times when it takes longer than expected to scan.

Switched from : ESET

Reason to switch : ESET was not updating its virus definitions as frequently as Intego and it did not make me feel secure enough.
