“Simple and Clean but Limited to Apple”

Apple Notes is fantastic since it keeps things clutter-free and eliminates the need for third-party apps for quick and easy note-taking. However, it is limited to Apple devices, which is bad if I ever need to use Windows or Android.

Pros : There is no need for third-party applications. I do not have to rely on external apps to make simple notes, which keeps things cleaner.

Cons : It has a limit in cross-platform usage. I can only use Apple Notes on Apple devices. This is bad since I cannot use it on Android or Windows.

Reason to switch : ClickUp had more features but was not suitable for my simple requirements of everyday note-taking needs.

“Great Offline but Limited Export Options”

I can use Apple Notes offline and it syncs flawlessly when I am back online. However, I wish it offered more export options; I find it annoying that I cannot simply save my notes in Word or PDF formats.

Pros : I like how I can use it offline even when I do not have internet access. It also syncs back when I am back online.

Cons : There are no export options. Apple does not make it easy to export my notes in a format I can use elsewhere.

Reason to switch : Apple Notes is more integrated with the ecosystem I currently am using.

“Multimedia Friendly but Lacks Organization”

I like how simple it is to add images, links, and attachments using Apple Notes. However, I wish it had a tagging system so I could better arrange my notes.

Pros : It supports the use of multimedia. It allows me to easily add photos, links, and attachments right into my notes.

Cons : There is no tagging system. It would have been great if I could use tags to categorize my notes.

Reason to switch : I moved to Apple Notes since it was more flexible for quick notetaking and syncing across devices.

“Great for Doodling Not for Teamwork”

I like how simple it is to switch to the drawing tool in Apple Notes when I need to sketch something quickly. Since it lacks real-time editing like other apps, it is not particularly good for teamwork.

Pros : I like how I can doodle something whenever. It is easy to switch to the drawing tool.

Cons : Not the best for collaboration. It lacks real-time collaboration features that other applications like Google Docs have.

Reason to switch : OneNote had a lot of features, and I found it too complex for my everyday needs.

“Secure for Notes but Not for Projects”

It is great for privacy because I can use Face ID or a password to secure my crucial notes. However, Apple Notes is not as helpful for organizing larger workloads because it is not the best tool for managing tasks or projects.

Pros : It is password protected which is great. I lock my important notes with a password or Face ID.

Cons : It is not a task management tool, which makes keeping track of projects or tasks challenging.

Reason to switch : The notion is great for task management, but for simple and basic use, it felt too complicated.

“Free and Handy but Sync Could be Better”

The nice part about Apple Notes is that it is still one of the greatest apps available and is free. It can be bothersome when my notes do not update correctly across devices due to sync problems.

Pros : The best part is that it is free to use. One of the best apps that Apple has put out there.

Cons : I found out it has occasional sync issues. My notes do not sync properly between devices.

Reason to switch : I moved from Simplenote to Apple Notes because I needed something with more features and integration with my Apple devices.

“Quick Search Limited Formatting”

I like how quick and dependable Apple Notes' search feature is. I can locate what I need even if I have a ton of notes. I cannot format my notes the way I want to, though, because it does not have rich text formatting.

Pros : The search function is great since I can find my notes super-fast. Even if there are tons of notes, I can filter them.

Cons : There is no rich text formatting. I want more control over text formatting and Apple Notes does not give me that.

Reason to switch : I switched to Apple Notes since I wanted something that is simple and easier to use.

My life is so much easier with Apple Notes as it keeps everything synchronized between my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Although it is easy to use, power users may find it basic because it lacks features for mind mapping and structured notetaking.

Pros : I like how it syncs across all my devices. I can sync it on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac, which makes it convenient.

Cons : It offered no advanced features. It is not the right tool for mind mapping and structured note-taking.

Reason to switch : Bear was good but the subscription cost and lack of seamless syncing across all my devices made me switch.
