“Overkill for Basic Needs, Powerful but Complex”

For my role in Education and Research, I needed audio software mainly for basic audio editing and recording lectures. We chose Reaper based on its reputation, but honestly, it feels like overkill for our simple needs. While features like MIDI recording, advanced routing, and scripting are impressive, they are largely unnecessary for us. The interface, while customizable, can feel cluttered and overwhelming. Even simple tasks sometimes feel more complicated than they should be. For complex audio work, I can see the appeal, but for straightforward recording and editing, it might be too much software.

Pros : Extremely feature-rich, powerful for advanced audio tasks, and highly adaptable.

Cons : Overly complex for basic tasks, steep learning curve, potentially cluttered interface for simple users.
