“Great for Beginners but Limited Free Version”

I like that GoldWave is more affordable than other high-end audio editors because I am new to audio editing. Although it is simple to get started, I felt that the free version was quite restrictive, so I decided to subscribe to for full access.

Pros : Being new to the field of audio editing I find that it attracts new users because it is competitively priced compared to other high-end audio editors.

Cons : I used to use the free version of GoldWave but due to its limitations and very basic features, many users are tempted to get full access.

Switched from : Murf ai

Reason to switch : I needed more interactive editing tools than Murf AI could provide, so I moved to GoldWave. It was a suitable starting point because of its cost and basic features.

“easily accessible”

I have been using GoldWave for 10 years, and I like that it hasn’t changed all that much. Even after a hiatus, it is simple to resume audio editing because of this constancy.

Pros : As a veteran user of GoldWave I have seen that it has retained the same basic look and features over the last 10 years which makes it easily accessible for someone who has taken time off in audio or video editing.

Cons : Since I have been using the tool for over a decade, the only thing I would like to change which is to introduce a multi-track option in GoldWave.

Switched from : HeyGen

Reason to switch : I moved from HeyGen, which lacked the depth and hands-on approach I desired, to GoldWave because I needed a tool that felt comfortable and dependable for my editing needs.

“Timesaving with a Bit of a Learning Curve”

For my music projects, GoldWave has been a game changer, mainly because of the batch processing capability. I can save a ton of time by applying adjustments and effects to multiple files at once. Challenging to learn but at the end proved dependable.

Pros : GoldWave’s handling of batch conversions and processing has allowed me to save so much time since I can apply effects and edits to multiple files.

Cons : It took me a while to learn the interface and correctly use the features since they were complex since I was especially new to audio editing.

Switched from : Adobe Audition

Reason to switch : I wanted a more cost-effective solution with reliable processing capabilities, so I moved to GoldWave. Adobe Audition was too costly for me although it was good.

“Great Format Support”

Since GoldWave supports a variety of audio formats, editing various file types is simple and seamless, which is why I truly enjoy using it. But due to its limits when it comes to music production disappoints me. Nevertheless, it works well for simple audio.

Pros : It is the wide format support for me that made me love GoldWave. I can edit all kinds of audio formats such as MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, and much more which ensures compatibility with many audio files.

Cons : Unfortunately, the software does not support MIDI editing or sequencing, which is a drawback for music producers.

Switched from : Sound Forge Pro

Reason to switch : I moved to GoldWave since SoundForge wasn’t up to par with my needs in terms of format compatibility and batch processing capabilities.

“Great Built-in Effects”

GoldWave has amazing built-in effects like equalization, pitch shifting, reverb, and echo that make it easy for me to improve my audio. Integration of plugins isn’t as seamless. But for projects that don’t require a lot of plugin usage, it is right.

Pros : My favorite feature about GoldWave is that it comes with built-in effects like echo, reverb, pitch shifting, and equalization to improve audio.

Cons : Its integration with plugins is not as seamless as in other DAWs, although it supports VST plugins.

Switched from : Descript

Reason to switch : I wanted greater control over editing and audio effects than Descript provided, so I moved to GoldWave.

“Great for Visual Tools”

Its real-time visual features like waveforms, spectrograms, and level meters, GoldWave is an excellent tool for my video editing needs. I can keep an eye on audio while working.

Pros : Being a music video editor, I really appreciate real-time visual tools such as waveforms, spectrograms, and level meters.

Cons : It’s not meant for full-scale music production since it is mostly designed more for audio and video editing.

Switched from : Reaper

Reason to switch : Since Reaper did not put much emphasis on powerful visual displays and easier audio editing capabilities for my video productions, I moved to GoldWave.

“Noise Reduction is Good but Basic”

My audio recordings have benefited greatly from GoldWaves noise reduction feature. It is quite effective and gives my tracks a polished tone. However, due to its simple modifications, it is not the greatest option if you want extremely configurable editing tools

Pros : The thing I use and love the most about GoldWave is its noise reduction tool, it is very effective and cleans up recordings quite nicely.

Cons : For advanced users or people who are looking for a more customized experience, GoldWave may not be for them since it offers very basic edits.

Switched from : Riverside

Reason to switch : Riverside fm software would frequently freeze, which disrupts the flow of the conversation and was not a perfect match for me. This caused me to switch to GoldWave.

“Precision Editing at Its Best”

I really liked that GoldWave has a high accuracy editing down to the sample level, it really made detailed audio work easier to work with. The sad part is I have a Mac and use emulation software since it primarily works with Windows devices.

Pros : In my line of work where I must deal with detailed audio work, GoldWave provides high-accuracy editing down to the sample level.

Cons : I own a Mac and I must use emulation software to run it since it is primarily designed for Windows.

Switched from : GarageBand

Reason to switch : I needed more accurate editing tools than GarageBand could provide, so I moved to GoldWave, even if it meant running it on my Mac through an emulator.

“Great for Customizing Layout”

For my audio editing requirements, GoldWave has proven to be dependable. I enjoy that I can change the layout to fit my workflow, even though the user interface seems dated.

Pros : In my personal experience I find that though the user interface is outdated, it still allows me to modify the layout and appearance to fit my workflow preferences.

Cons : I found that it lacked some of the advanced features and tools found in commercial DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), such as multitrack editing.

Switched from : WavePad Audio Editing Software

Reason to switch : I switched from WavePad because it only works with a single audio track. Whereas GoldWave allows multi-track editing and offers more accurate noise reduction tools.

“Solid Audio Editor!”

Description: Goldwave has a ton of functionality, which is why I started using it for my audio projects. From simple modifications like cut and paste to more advanced features like crossfade and noise reduction, it has everything. It just needs a graphic update and it will be really good.

Pros : I like how GoldWave has a wide range of editing features which include cut, copy, paste, and even advanced functions like crossfade and noise reduction.

Cons : The Interface is not the best it feels a bit outdated compared to new audio editing software.

Switched from : Audacity

Reason to switch : I needed stronger batch processing and more accurate editing tools than Audacity provides, so I moved to GoldWave. The extensive features of GoldWave made the switch worthwhile.
