“Good Export Options, Lacks Helpful Support”

I like that Audio Mass enables me to export audio in multiple formats like MP3 and WAV, this covers the basics for most of my projects. However, there are not many tutorials or online videos to guide me.

Pros : I like how it has an export option; it supports exporting audio in multiple formats such as MP3 and WAV, which covers the basics for most projects.

Cons : It does not have too many videos and tutorials online, so it made it quite difficult for me to get help. For a beginner, figuring out these features took unnecessary time.

Switched from : Cakewalk

Reason to switch : Cakewalk was too complex for my needs, so that is why I switched to Audio Mass. I needed something that was simpler and quicker, Audio Mass offered just that.

“Simple and Good for Beginners”

Audio Mass makes it perfect if you want to learn the basics of audio editing and for quick edits. I did not even need instructions to start editing. However, the built-in effects are basic, I wish I had more control to fine-tune my edits.

Pros : The interface is simple and easy to understand. I do not think anyone needs instructions on how to the basic editing tool because it is intuitive. It is great for quick edits and learning basic audio editing.

Cons : It offers basic built-in effects. I prefer more control over effect parameters to fine-tune my edits.

Switched from : ocenaudio

Reason to switch : Ocenaudio was great, but it felt too much for my quick and basic editing tasks. I switched to Audio Mass since I wanted something simpler and faster.

“Community Driven and Open Source”

Audio Mas is open-source and community-driven too. I feel like it has the potential to improve with new user contributions. It cannot be a replacement for a fill DAW, while it is great for quick edits and basic tasks, I still need a powerful tool for professional work.

Pros : Since it is an open-source, it is community-driven. It has the potential to grow and evolve with upcoming user contributions.

Cons : At the end of the day, it is not a replacement for a DAW. It is great for quick edits and basics; I always must turn to a fully featured DAW for anything professional or detailed.

Switched from : Wavacity

Reason to switch : I moved to Mass Audio since Wavacity was getting slow and clunky for my needs. Audio Mass is simple and faster for my small tasks, though I still need to find a DAW for more complex projects.

“Fast and Easy”

What I love most about Audio Mass is how I can just open it in my browser and start editing. It is perfect for quick and easy edits without any hassle. But the lack of undo history is such a miss. If I mess up, I must start over.

Pros : My favorite feature of Audio Mass is that it is web-based and there is no installation required or any updates. I just open the browser and can do my work immediately.

Cons : A feature that bugs me is the fact that you cannot undo history. You can make one wrong move, and it will take you back to square one.

Reason to switch : Audio Mass is a simpler tool. Tenacity is great, but it was feature-heavy for my basic needs. Audio Mass feels faster and more straightforward for smaller projects.

“Convenient Anywhere, but Real-Time Effects are Missing”

Audio Mass is browser-based, which means that I can use it on any device or operating system wherever. This has saved me more than once when I needed to make edits on the go. However, the lack of real-time effects is not ideal.

Pros : I have found myself in situations where I could use it anywhere due to its cross-platform compatibility. Being browser-based, it works in any operating system.

Cons : There are no real-time effects which is a bummer. I find it infuriating to apply effects and then listen, rather than hear them outright.

Reason to switch : I made a switch to Audio Mass because GarageBand is not available for non-Apple devices, and I needed something more flexible for my work.

“Hassle Free, but Not for Big Projects”

Audio Mass just lets me jump straight into editing without needing to sign up or logging in- it is a real time-saver. However, it struggles with large projects. Whenever I try to edit for longer periods, the software slows down.

Pros : I really like the fact that there is no login required or account creation. I can save time and directly just start using it for my work.

Cons : You cannot really use it for large projects. I have tried to edit long or high-quality recordings, most of them have froze and slowed down significantly.

Switched from : Adobe Audition for teams

Reason to switch : I switched to Audio Mass since Adobe Audition was too expensive for my occasional use. Audio Mass suited my workflow since I just required it for simple and faster edits.

“Lightweight, But Needs a Design Upgrade”

I love how it loads so quickly even on my older devices. It is refreshing compared to other software these days that feels too heavy to run. That said, the interface is a little dated and it desperately needs an upgrade.

Pros : Audio Mass is lightweight since it loads quickly and runs smoothly. Eben older machines and laptops can run it, this is rare, especially in today’s resource-hungry DAWs.

Cons : I find the interface however looking very outdated. I sometimes wish it had a more modern and polished aesthetic.

Switched from : Reaper

Reason to switch : Reaper was an overkill for my basic editing skills and really made my machine slow. Audio Mass suits my workflow better and is more efficient for my quick projects.

“Free Tool but Internet Issues Slow It Down”

Audio Mass is an impressive free tool, it offers essential effects like fades, pitch shifting, and equalization which are great for quick fixes. Due to its web-based nature, it sometimes lags if my internet connection is not as strong, or my browser gets overloaded.

Pros : I like that even for a free and open-source tool it still has the essential effects like fades, pitch shifting, and equalization. These are good for quick fixes or enhancements without needing advanced software.

Cons : While it is web-based, it is also a problem since it can sometimes lag depending on the internet speed, browser, or system load which is not ideal.

Switched from : Sound Forge Pro

Reason to switch : SoundForge was not very compatible with my system. It gave me a lot of problems since the Mac support was not consistent. That is why I have switched to Audio Mass

“Flexible Offline Tool”

I was surprised that Audio Mass can be used by downloading the app, this made it convenient and added a lot of flexibility. However, it would be great if it allowed multiple users to collaborate on the same project, which feels like a must-have in today’s work environment.

Pros : Easy offline usage, which is surprising since it is a web-based tool. You can download the app and use it without any internet connection, which adds flexibility.

Cons : It will be nice if they allow you to work with multiple users on the same project, especially in today’s collaborative work environment.

Switched from : Spek

Reason to switch : Spek is more of an analysis tool and does not have any editing features. Audio Mass gave me basic editing options with the flexibility to work offline.

I have been using Audio Mass for a while now, it was easy to start editing. I did not have to worry about installations or any updates since it was free and open-source. However, it does miss advanced features which limits its potential for more complex projects.

Pros : Audio Mass really makes it accessible for everyone since it is a free-to-use and open-source software. It is a solid option for those who want basic audio editing tools.

Cons : Even though it covers a lot of the basics, it lacks certain features such as multi-track editing and MIDI integration. I feel like I still need a more robust DAW.

Reason to switch : I made a switch to Audio Mass because it was lightweight and quick to load for basic edits. Audacity felt too bulky for smaller tasks.
