“Best Format Support in The Game”

What really appealed to me was that it supports so many audio formats. It makes editing and converting files feel convenient. But as someone who dabbles with music production a little, the MIDI editing feels basic and limited.

Pros : Supports multiple formats for both video and audio editing. For Audio it supports MP3, WAV, WMA, and M4A. For Video it supports 3GPP2, AVI, DivX, DV- AVI, and VOB. it supports most of the video files in general which makes it easy to edit and convert.

Cons : If you are a music producer who focuses on new instruments you would be disappointed since it has a very basic MIDI editing. It is not the most versatile tool in this area.

Switched from : Reaper

Reason to switch : Reaper was too advanced for my needs and did not have video-related audio editing. Therefore I switched to AudioDirector since it handles my needs well.

“Real-Time Preview is Its Best Feature”

The real-time preview feature is such a time saver and makes experimenting audio stress-free. I wish however there were tutorials that showed how to use the other advanced features since it was challenging trying to figure them out.

Pros : I appreciate that it offers the ability to preview edits in real time which is a huge time-saver. I like to hear how tweaks sound without committing to the changes and then undoing them if they do not work out.

Cons : You must be patient when diving into more complex features. While the basics are easy to learn, I feel like for advanced tools they should have offered tutorials.

Switched from : ocenaudio

Reason to switch : Ocenaudio was too basic for my needs it did not have the editing tools and real-time preview that AudioDirector offered.

“Good 360-Degree Audio, But Lacks Cloud Collaboration”

It has one of the most unique spatial audio tools for 360-degree videos. It added an immersive experience touch to my projects. However, I was disappointed when I found out there was no cloud collaboration, which is a dealbreaker since I work with a remote team.

Pros : The standout feature for me was the spatial audio editing tools for 360-degree videos. This made my projects more immersive and engaging.

Cons : CyberLink AudioDirector does not have built-in functionality for cloud collaboration. This is a huge drawback for me especially since I work with a remote team and need real-time project sharing software.

Switched from : Ardour

Reason to switch : Ardour was more music production not friendly with video editing and lacked certain restoration tools which I needed for my audio editing.

“Frequent Updates Are Good, but Sometimes Lack New Features”

I like how CyberLink AudioDirector gets updated regularly with new features and fixes. But some updates feel more like tweaks to old features rather than introducing something new and exciting.

Pros : I love how the developers frequently update AudioDirector with new features and bug fixes. This shows a commitment to keeping the software relevant and secure.

Cons : Although they update their software often, some of these updates feel redundant. It just feels like a rebranding of old features rather than offering fresh tools and features.

Switched from : Sound Forge Pro

Reason to switch : I switched because SoundForge felt outdated and did not receive any updates as often. AudioDirector’s consistent updates and improvements have gradually made it better to stay current with audio editing tools.

“Good Integration for Audio and Video Editing”

What really sold me was how CyberLink AudioDirector smoothly works with PowerDirector. It made syncing audio and video so easy and saved me so much time. But for someone who sometimes dabbles with advanced tools, it is a bit limited in that regard.

Pros : I was hooked as soon as I knew that it had a seamless integration with PowerDirector. It just made editing audio and video together so much easier.

Cons : Being primarily a video editor although it is feature-rich for novices, it lacks depth and precision for professionals who like to use advanced tools.

Switched from : Tenacity

Reason to switch : AudioDirector offered me a better integration and more tools for audio cleanup and improvement. Tenacity was too basic for my needs, especially video projects.

“Great for Beginners, Could Be Smoother”

I am new to audio editing, and CyberLink AudioDirector has been a good starting point for me. The GUI is beginner-friendly, and I was able to edit without feeling too lost. I however did face lag issues due to working on larger files which was frustrating to say the least.

Pros : Since I am new to editing, I really find the user interface friendly, which makes it easier to figure out what to do in audio editing. The layout really made it easier for me to learn quickly without feeling overwhelmed.

Cons : I was trying to work on larger files when I found out that it can be a bit demanding on my system. I have experienced lags and crashes which can be irritating during intense projects.

Switched from : Audacity

Reason to switch : I made a switch from Audacity because it felt outdated and lacked the advanced tools, I wanted to clean up my recordings.

“Affordable and Powerful”

For me personally, I do not mind the pricing model as much since it is reasonable compared to other high-end tools. It is budget-friendly and offers great features for the price. The restoration tools however can be a little over the top leading to audio sounding unnatural if I am not precise.

Pros : I choose CyberLink AudioDirector due to its affordable subscription options. When compared with some other industry-standard audio tools, the subscription is reasonable and budget-friendly.

Cons : Even though the restoration tools are great, they sometimes overprocess the audio, which leaves an unnatural sound if you are not careful with the settings.

Switched from : Cakewalk

Reason to switch : Cakewalk, while free did not have the advanced restoration features I needed. AudioDirector offered better tools for cleaning up recordings.

“Customizable Hotkeys Make It Worth”

CyberLink AudioDirector really allows me to customize my hot keeps which saves my time and keeps my workflow efficient. I although have run into audio desync issues, especially with longer video clips. I can fix them, but it is an extra hassle I do not want to deal with.

Pros : Being able to set shortcuts is such a time saver and makes my workflow so much smoother. The customizable hotkeys are a big productivity booster.

Cons : I have faced occasional bugs with the audio desync especially while editing videos, particularly with longer clips. It is fixable but it adds a lot of unnecessary steps to the workflow.

Switched from : Spek

Reason to switch : Spek was too basic for my needs. AudioDirector gave me more features and customization options, making it an ideal fit for my video projects.

“Amazing Audio Cleanup Tools”

I was really impressed with the restoration tools that CyberLink AudioDirector had to offer. Cleaning up noisy recordings was easy, and the results were ideal. The only thing that bugs me is the subscription model.

Pros : The software has some neat comprehensive restoration tools such as noise reduction and hum removal. I could easily clean up poor-quality recordings.

Cons : Not a big fan of the subscription pricing model, where I must pay monthly fees. Even though the pricing is fair, I prefer directly getting the software entirely.

Switched from : FL Studio

Reason to switch : FL Studio was more focused on music production; I needed something for more basic and regular needs. AudioDirector had the specifications that I wanted.

“Great for Podcasts”

The de-reverb tool has been a lifesaver for my podcasts and YouTube shorts, it is such a rare find for consumer-level software. However, the lack of support for third-party plugins feels limiting, especially when I am working on music projects that need flexibility.

Pros : One of my favorite features is the de-reverb tool where I work for taming the echoey recordings for my podcasts. You usually do not find it in other consumer-level audio editing software.

Cons : It lacks extensive third-party plugin support which really hinders the overall performance of my music. It feels restrictive when compared to other DAWs that have better integrations.

Switched from : Adobe Audition for teams

Reason to switch : I made a switch to AudioDirector because it suited my workflow and gave versatility to my podcasts.
