“Precise Editing Tool but Crashes Occasionally”

The Spectral Frequency Display in Adobe Audition is a game-changer for me. It helps me remove or isolate noise or sounds that I would miss with a regular waveform. However, it slows down my progress due to the unexpected crashes.

Pros : My favorite feature of the Audition is the Spectral Frequency Display for precise editing. It is perfect for isolating sounds in a busy mix or finding unwanted noise that you can miss in the regular waveform.

Cons : Even though most of the time it is stable, I have experienced occasional crashes when dealing with large projects or when applying effects simultaneously. I always get frustrated when losing progress unexpectedly.

Switched from : Studio One

Reason to switch : Studio One did not have the advanced restoration tools, and I was sold on Auditions spectral editing features.

“Powerful but Pricey”

If you want detailed editing, Adobe Audition is for you. The features are super precise, and you can do most things without any hassle. The only drawback is the pricing model. I wish I could have bought the entire software, but I can’t.

Pros : One of the things that I love about Adobe Audition is its secure set of audio editing features. It has a nice set of features such as trimming, cutting, or splicing, I can manipulate tracks with proper precision.

Cons : The subscription model is just not the best for me. It has both monthly and yearly subscriptions, but it is just too expensive compared to audio programs that require a one-time purchase.

Switched from : Audacity

Reason to switch : I switched to Adobe Audition because Audacity, even though free, felt basic for my needs. I wanted more advanced tools and better sound quality.

“Great for Editing, Not for Music Production”

Audition’s batch processing saves so much time when I am working on big projects. However, it is not ideal for creating music from scratch, as it does not have all the tools you would find in DAWs.

Pros : The feature to apply the same effect of the process to multiple files at once is incredibly helpful, especially when handling big audio files. It enhances my workflow a lot.

Cons : Unlike so DAWs, Adobe Audition is not tailored for music production. It does not have the full tools for producing music from scratch.

Switched from : Avid Pro Tools

Reason to switch : Avid Pro did not provide me with better tools for editing and cleaning up podcasts and videos.

“Real-Time Effects Are a Big Win”

Being able to hear effects before applying them has saved me from making mistakes so many times. The audition real-time preview feature smoothly executes this. It is not great for video editing, so I still rely on Premier Pro for that.

Pros : I like how I can hear how the effect will sound before applying it, which allows me to prevent mistakes. This is all thanks to the amazing real-time preview of Audition.

Cons : Although Audition integrates with Premiere Pro, it is not an ideal software for video editing. You will need to jump to Premiere Pro if you want to make any major edits to to video content.

Switched from : Sound Forge Pro

Reason to switch : SoundForge did not have integration capabilities with most Adobe products. Audition works with Premiere Pro and makes workflow a lot smoother.

“Perfect for Adobe Integration, But not for MIDI”

I like how it works so well with Premier Pro and other Adobe apps. However, if you are into MIDI editing, it is honestly not the best. Since I mainly use it for audio editing and mixing, it fits me.

Pros : If you are like me and is using other Adobe products such as Premiere Pro, the integration between Audition and the Adobe Creative Cloud is a huge plus. It allows me to move between applications smoothly.

Cons : If you are into MIDI editing, Audition is not the best choice. It lacks the advanced MIDI capabilities that other DAWs provide like Ableton Live

Reason to switch : Ableton Live did not give me integration with my video editing workflow in Premiere Pro. Audition syncs well and simplifies my projects.

“Lifesaver for Audio Cleanup”

The restoration tools in Adobe Audition are amazing! Features like ‘Adaptive Noise Reduction’ and ‘DeReverb’ have completely saved recordings I thought were unusable. Sometimes it can slow down my computer while working on heavy projects.

Pros : One of the best restoration tools in the game. Features like ‘Adaptive Noise Reduction’ and ‘DeReverb’ have been my life savers for many of my recordings from sounding horrible.

Cons : Although very powerful it uses up a lot of system requirements, which slows down my computer if I am working on large files and multiple tracks.

Switched from : Logic Pro X

Reason to switch : I moved from Logic Pro X because I needed better tools for cleaning up noisy recordings. Audition shines in this regard and has exactly what I am looking for

“A Pro’s Dream but Takes Time to Learn”

I have been blown away by how easy it is to work with multiple audio layers in Adobe Audition. Its multitrack editor is one of my favorite tools and I can mix everything on one screen. Although it took me a while to learn the ropes, now it's my go-to DAW.

Pros : Its multitrack editor is not talked about enough. It is so easy to work with multiple layers of audio, mix them together, and see everything on one screen without getting overwhelmed.

Cons : I really do like the power of auditioning, but I have to say that it can be difficult to learn and master. The learning curve is a lot, and new users may find the interface tough.

Switched from : GarageBand

Reason to switch : Audition offered the precision and features that GarageBand couldn’t match like advanced editing tools and flexibility for larger projects.

“Flexible with Plugins”

It gives me so much flexibility to add specialized tools for my projects due to its support with third-party VST and AU plugins. The non-destructive editing however feels a bit limited compared to what other DAWs offer.

Pros : It has extensive plugin support that works well with third-party VST and AU plugins, which means I can really expand the functionality and use specialized tools to fit my requirements.

Cons : Although it has non-destructive editing capabilities, they aren’t as flexible or powerful as those found in other DAWs.

Switched from : FL Studio

Reason to switch : I made a move from FL Studio because I needed better tools for mixing and editing audio for my videos and podcasts. Audition and its plugin support made it a great choice for my needs.

“Great for Learning, but Overkill for Simple Edits”

Adobe Audition has a good community and tutorials are found anywhere. This is what made me learn the software much faster. But honestly. It is too complex if you are just looking for quick edits.

Pros : I like how Adobe really offers a lot of learning resources, from tutorials to community forums. It is great when I need help or want to improve my skills.

Cons : If you just want to use a software for simple editing and quick edits, Audition feels like an overkill. It is too complex for a simple job.

Switched from : WavePad Audio Editing Software

Reason to switch : WavaPad was not as professional for larger projects. Audition however offered everything I needed to take my audio editing to the next level.

“Easy to Use, but Pricey for Some Features”

The interface in Adobe Audition is so clean and easy to navigate. It did not take me long to get familiar with it, customizing it to fit my workflow was huge. I sometimes feel like I am paying for features I don’t really use that much.

Pros : The interface is clean, intuitive, and very customizable. It is easy to get the hang of It, can easily navigate through the software feels smooth and efficient.

Cons : I find that Audition is a great tool, but I sometimes feel that I can get those features in less expensive programs. I am anyways paying for a lot of functionality that I don’t always need.

Switched from : Cubase

Reason to switch : Cubase was not as smooth and did not work that fast for me. Audition provided a simpler and more intuitive interface
