When I start downloading, IDM asks for a username and password. What is the reason behind it and from where can I get it?

A:

This issue arises because of either of these two reasons:

  • You might be downloading something from a protected website. In order to resolve this issue, make an account on that website and then try downloading again
  • The proxy setting might be interfering while you are downloading something. To disable it tap Options and then choose Proxy/Socks. Toggle off the status and you’ll be good to go.
