Elba, a start-up headquartered in Paris, has successfully secured €2.5 million in its inaugural funding round. The company specializes in providing teams with advanced cybersecurity solutions. With this newfound capital, Elba aims to extend its global reach and allocate resources toward further enhancing its research and development endeavors.
The concept of Elba was born from the mind of Théo Rouer, the co-founder and CEO, in collaboration with start-up studio eFounders. Théo initially developed a cybersecurity awareness company to assist IT teams in training employees in small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
However, upon closer examination, he realized that relying solely on an awareness-based approach was not the ultimate solution he had anticipated. In an era where Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) adoption is skyrocketing, it became evident that a cybersecurity solution was the most viable path forward.
According to Rouer, the surge in security risks related to Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) has put IT teams in a challenging position. He said, “The explosion of SaaS security risks has left IT teams in a tricky situation. Identifying employees’ security issues manually is tedious work, and even traditional solutions like SIEMs or CASBs that automate issue detection are not effective as IT teams still need to solicit more context from employees to investigate issues. That’s why we created Elba.”
Elba seamlessly integrates with the clients’ SaaS ecosystem. And it effectively identifies any security concerns. Furthermore, it promptly sends alerts to its teams for immediate resolution with just a single click.
Elba was launched six months ago, and the start-up has managed to attract over 100 customers, including notable names like Deepki, Equativ, Zenchef, and Resilience.
XAnge led the funding round, which was joined by Plug and Play US, Kima Venture, Angel Invest, and Uncorrelated. Notable security experts, including Jason Chan (former CISO of Netflix), Jean-Baptiste Aviat (CTO of Sqreen), and Eric Fournier (CTO of GitGuardian), are also involved in this exciting venture.
