Aspire.io, US Based Company Bought an Indian SaaS Platform, CommerceUp

Aspire.io, an Influencer marketing company based out in the USA has recently acquired the Indian SaaS-based ecommerce platform, Commerceup. The exact amount of the acquisition remains undisclosed. This statement came from Aspire.io on Monday.

As part of the deal, twelve members from Commerceup’s team, including its executive leadership, have joined Aspire’s product team. Their primary focus will be on developing and expanding influence-driven commerce.

Rajiv Arunkundrum, Senior Vice President of Products at Aspire, expressed excitement about this collaboration. He highlighted Commerceup’s success in building a core commerce platform for key omni-channel customers in Asia.

Arunkundrum sees this partnership as a way to accelerate Aspire’s product and engineering investments in India. Their ambitious plans involve expanding their commerce capabilities, particularly with platforms like Shopify, to provide more value to their customers.

Commerceup was founded in 2019 by Piyush Pathak. Since then, it has been known for creating customized and innovative digital commerce solutions. They specialized in catering to direct-to-consumer brands with requirements for multi-currency, multi-brand, and multilingual functionality.

Now, as part of Aspire, their team will focus on developing similar products that emphasize attributable sales, scaled product seeding, and driving a scalable return on investment through user-generated content in advertisements.

Pathak further said that, “This is a strategic move for enhanced innovation and collaboration, leveraging both companies’ expertise to provide clients with expanded product offerings.”

Commerceup initiated product development in 2019 and launched its first client in Dubai in August 2020. This move underscores Aspire’s commitment to harnessing the talent and technological capabilities available in the Indian market, as stated by Suhaas Prasad, Co-founder and CTO at Aspire.

Aspire has a track record of paying out over $100 million to creators and enjoys the trust of more than 900 top brands, including names like Maude, M&M’s and Ray-Ban among others.
