Investigating how AI can be applied to protect and shield the U.S.’s most essential software as well as computer codes that keep cyberspace and crucial infrastructure running.
DARPA partnering with Microsoft, Google, Anthropic, and OpenAI to lead the AI Cyber Challenge. The companies will provide expertise and produce their models for the challenge, which features almost $20 million in award. To ensure extensive participation and a level competing field, DARPA will also provide $7 million to small businesses who want to participate.
According to a news release, the AIxCC challenge will show the potential advantage of AI to help safeguard software used across society and the internet from the electric network that powers America to the mass transit system that drives day-to-day life.
