“Easy to manage and run multiple Kubernetes across several clouds”

Pros : VMware vSphere with Tanzu provides complete visibility into our Kubernetes workloads and helps manage the entire cluster of VMs and containers. All can be managed through a unified platform and results in agile operations. Our IT team feel quite empowered with vSphere and Tanzu.

Cons : At present, there are no tools available for exposing an app's information to the routing layers. This has to be written manually, which exactly isn't very convenient.

Reason to switch : It was getting difficult to manage all updated apps on the cloud. This had become a big hurdle for teams and causing delays and miscommunication.

“Best for writing app codes without worrying about routing, patching or containerization”

Pros : What I liked about Tanzu application service is its amazing cloud applicability that serves as an amazing platform for modernizing the applications. Run smoothly the cloud-native codes and be worry-free. It also has excellent life cycle management capabilities and an efficient runtime environment.

Cons : Implementation of role-based access is a bit difficult and has minor glitches as we use the security items.

Reason to switch : We were looking for an application virtualization tool that is easy to deploy. vSphere with Tanzu provides access to end-user training too.

“Curated & production-ready, comprising container images in open source form”

Pros : I decided to go ahead with vSphere with Tanzu for automatic container creation and I am not disappointed. Kubernetes runtime is enterprise-ready, and you can deploy it for powering the delivery of all your modern apps across clouds and teams.

Cons : It is quite a hassle to debug applications running on the platform. This is one issue that SREs and developers may come across.

Reason to switch : The last software we had deployed couldn't efficiently monitor the microservices across the cloud.
