To trigger a Copilot suggestion in GitHub:

• Select GitHub Copilot from the left sidebar
• Click on the dropdown menu under the suggestions complementing the public code
• Click on Allow to enable the suggestions.

GitHub Copilot is available to all GitHub users, including students. You can simply install and use Copilot in your preferred IDE or code editor by following the installation instructions provided by GitHub.

GitHub is only giving access to a restricted testers for free. Their aim is to preview and learn how people use GitHub Copilot and testing how to operate it at that scale. They are continuously adding users over the time, and the waiting list is open. Though the timeline is not yet committed.
