Your smartphone contains plenty of sensitive information, thus pondering over whether you need security and antivirus software for your smartphone is a fair concern. There is a lot of malware and they are increasing day-by-day.

If you install antivirus for your computer or laptop, treating your smartphones the same way is crucial as they too are smaller computers with the software installed. Many smartphone users are not aware of the threats they are exposed to or the viruses that might harm their Smartphones.

Reasons for having antivirus software in your smartphone:

Virus and Malware

There are Ransomware, SMS Trajons, Adware, Spyware that come on your device when you install infected APK files from third-party sources.

Untrusted Sources

If you want to install mobile apps from third-party sources, you need to be very careful to protect your data, be secured against malware and avoid privacy intrusion.

Malicious Files

You can even end up downloading malicious files into your devices through websites if your aren’t careful and install them on your devices.

Mobile Platform

Your risk of downloading malware would highly depend on the mobile OS you use. No matter which platform you use, it’s a good idea to be protected as cybercriminals continuously look for new ways to get malicious software installed on your device.

Android OS

One of the most affected OS is Android, the rapid expansion and market penetration of which has made it the major targets for cybercriminals. To save yourself, you can install security software which will detect malware in your files and applications.

Personal Data Security

Malware can come into your smartphone and steal your personal data including pictures, contacts, passwords etc. Your valuable information is thus vulnerable to malicious attacks.

The simple truth is, hackers will try to exploit everything, it is important that we take precautionary measures to stay safe. If you are installing applications and media from third-party sources, you need an antivirus.

It’s always better to be careful in downloading and not venturing beyond the walls of official apps downloading platform at the very first place, but security is required for surfing the internet too. You can face the risk of vthe irus in opening attachment or clicking on some downloading link too!

You however need to beware of installing applications from unknown sources or unofficial markets and check for the unnecessary permission given to each of the installed mobile app.

By installing good antivirus software, you will be able to protect your smartphones from the risks of viruses and malware.
